Bob Dillon, President, Unique Home Solutions has a few tips on what homeowners should do as soon as the weather breaks in the Spring. Bob suggest you start with the roof and inspect your way down to the foundation.
On the roof you're looking for look for loose, missing or discolored shingles. If less then 20% are missing, you can usually replace the missing ones; if more than 20% are missing or loose you should consider a re-roof.
Next inspect the flashings around stacks, vents, and chimney. Check to see if the sealant material is deteriorating. If necessary you can re-apply new material to keep these areas from leaking.
