World Police and Fire Games

The games are held every two years.  Local police and firefighter have been to Sweden, Barcelona, Quebec, Adelaide, Vancouver, New York to compete between fire, police from all over the world.

Local teams consists of golfers, softball players, bowling, body building, triathlon, pistol marksmanship, biathlon, cycling, bench press, skeet shooting.  Our lady softball team has won gold and silver medals.  Our bowlers have numerous gold, silver, bronze medals.  Our golfers also have numerous gold, silver and bronze medals. They have a very talented team who competes against people from all over the world. 

The games average around 10,000 participants. Local police and firefighters have to fundraise to cover the expenses.  They use their own vacation time to compete in the games and get no funding from the city.
