INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Over 400 people turned out to walk in memory of a Lawrence Township teacher Saturday. Sandy Bartenbach, a Crestview Elementary School teacher, was killed in her home in September.

Sandy's sisters, Shirley, Suzie and Cheryl led the group from Lawrence North High School, south to Crestview Elementary.
Shirley Dickinson, Sandy's sister, "It's been overwhelming, and it's not just the Indianapolis community. We all graduated from Rensselaer High School. Sandy's class, the class of 1968, brought alot of donations ... my class of 1973 brought donations ..."
Shirley says she hasnt heard much from officers working on her sister's murder case. IMPD Detectives are continuing to work leads
Investigators are waiting on test results from evidence collected at the crime scene.
As detectives continue to work on the case, this group wanted to move forward on a project in Sandy's memory. Members of the Crestview faculty and students decided on a short walk.
Lori Kirkland says, "She was a wonderful collegue..a wonderful teacher and very passionate about teaching. Meeting the needs of the kids and it's just a wonderful way to honor her."
The group plans to make this fundraiser an annual event. The group doesnt know exactly how much money was made from Saturday's event but they hope to have the amount tallied by Monday.
