CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - Police are looking for two suspects after a Hamilton County man was robbed at gunpoint in his own home. They said the men robbed the homeowner of some valuable jewelry.
The incident happened just after 8 p.m. Monday in the 10000 block of Woodlawn Drive in Carmel.
"Both of them were wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of them actually had a scarf around the hooded sweatshirt, covering part of his face," described Hamilton County Deputy Vicky Dunbar.
According to investigators, the victim was not home alone.
"Two daughters and also a grandmother were at the residence. Only the victim, the adult male and one of his daughters actually saw the suspects in this case," said Dunbar. "They burst through the front door and demanded cash of the home owner. When he told them he did not have any cash at the residence, they said 'You need to give us something'."
Investigators said the victim gave the suspects three watches valued at more than $10,000.
"We feel that this is not necessarily just a random incident. We feel the suspects in this case were possibly targeting this residence and this victim," said Dunbar.
Police said the victim described the robbers as two black males in their 40s to early 50s.
Anyone with information regarding the case should call the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department at 317-773-1282.
