BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A Bloomington man is recovering after he hurt himself jumping into shallow water on Lake Monroe.
A spokeswoman for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources tells 24 Hour News 8 that John Dilg jumped off a double decker pontoon boat into less than two feet of water. Dilg was on the boat with his family. It happened Monday around 12:30pm in Moores Creek Bay. DNR officers say some people aren't familiar with this part of the lake and don't realize it is very shallow.
