INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A bold robbery inside a near north side grocery store, as shoppers went about their business Monday.
This happened around 8:30am at the Double 8 Foods at the corner of 29th and Doctor Martin Luther King Streets.
Metro police say a man in his early 20's forced his way into the manager's office, brandishing a black revolver.
This happened right next to the grocery store's check-out lanes.
Fortunately, authorities say no customers were hurt in Monday's robbery.
"Yeah, he just dealt with the manager, put the gun in the manager's stomach, demanded him to open up the safe. The manager told him, he could not open up the safe and therefore he just took the money from the drawer", IMPD Officer Brian Dixon said.
Investigators aren't saying how much money the suspect got away with.
He fled the scene on foot.
They used K-9 dogs to track the gunman, but with no luck.
