Greenwood, Ind. (WISH) - More horror stories from Hoosier women who say a Johnson County man they had sex with didn't tell them he was infected with AIDS.
Tony Perkins found out Thursday in court that fifteen more women have come forward saying he never told them he has AIDS. We tracked down two of them and Perkins himself - who's sticking to what he told us a couple weeks ago.
Mike: Mr. Perkins more women have come forward. Anything to say about that? Tony Perkins: "Why don't you guys focus on educating the public about this disease and I wouldn't have had to lie!"
Tony Perkins still blames the media. The 47-year-old has already pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to warn sex partners he has AIDS. Now, there are fifteen more claims.
"I believe that he needs to sit in his cell and think about what he has done to our lives because my personal life has been shattered. My childrens' lives have been shattered! He doesn't get the aftermath of what he's done to people!" said Vickie Branch, Perkins' former girlfriend.
Perkins' former girlfriend Vickie Branch displays threatening text messages she says he's been sending her. Branch says, "He told some people at the jail that he felt bad about what he had done to his victims, but I don't know. I doubt it!"
So, what was Perkins thinking during the alleged encounters with women he often picked up at bars? Vickie says he's a sex addict, but another woman him just plain vindictive. "Why did I deserve this? I did nothing but show kindness and caring - and this is what we get?" asked the woman who only goes by "Michelle."
"If I had my druthers, he'd be on trial for attempted murder for every count! Because that's basically what he's done! He has played Russian Roulette with all our lives, but didn't tell us there was a bullet and a gun!"
Meantime, Perkins says, "You know if people hadn't treated me like I had the plague, I would've told them I had it!"
So far, none of the women who have come forward have tested positive for AIDS. If they do, charges against Perkins will go from D to C felonies. During court, he told the judge, "I don't care what happens to me anymore."
He has an intimidation charge against him for the threatening email. And he's expected back in court next Thursday for another hearing. This time with his attorney.
