MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. - Emergency crews are on the scene of a gas leak at the Morgan-Johnson County line.
Indiana State Police tell 24 Hour News 8 a pickup truck crashed just after midnight on SR 44 at Peavine Road. The truck swerved off the road and hit a high pressure gas line head, causing it to break. Residents in at least three area homes have been ordered to evacuate.
Troopers have shut down SR 44 from Peavine Road in Morgan County, east, to SR 44 at the Morgan – Johnson County line. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department have SR 44 closed at the Johnson County line. The roads are expected to be closed throughout the morning hours.
The driver of the 1994 Toyota pickup truck, a 21-year-old man from Greenwood, was not hurt. His passenger, a 19-year-old woman, complained of back pain.
