SUV collides with school bus, 14 injured

11 students taken to area hospitals

SPICELAND, Ind. (WISH) -

A school bus crash in Henry County sent several students to the hospital Monday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. in the town of Spiceland at State Road 3 and County Road 650 South.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department said the school bus stopped for a car turning into a gas station when an SUV slammed into the rear of the bus.

The crash injured 14 people. Eleven students on the bus were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. The bus driver and an adult passenger transported themselves to the hospital. And, the 16-year-old driver of the SUV took himself to the hospital with a possible broken nose and wrist injury.

The driver of the SUV told police he did not see the stopped bus.

Henry County Dispatch says paramedics took 7 students on the bus to the hospital with minor injuries.
