INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Sources tell 24-Hour News 8 Lincoln Plowman is resigning from the Indianapolis Metro Police Department on Monday.
Public Safety Director Frank Straub tells 24-Hour News 8 he is meeting with Plowman and his attorney to discuss Plowman's position with IMPD on Monday. The last day of his Plowman's paid leave was Friday.
Plowman is also a City-County Councilman. His district is in Franklin Township. He has told the president of the City-County Council that he plans to continue to represent District 25 while he’s being investigated.
Council members said it's unclear whether the latest developments will impact Plowman's position on the council.
A member of the council's ethics committee said if the committee receives a complaint about Plowman, it could act to remove him from the council.
Last month, one of Plowman's fellow councillor’s told 24-Hour News 8 the internal investigation may be related to Plowman's previous responsibilities with the Metropolitan Development Committee.
