CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The city of Connersville will find out this week if it landed the Carbon Motors plant.
A rally is scheduled for Wednesday and all signs point to Connersville getting the plant.
Everyone in town has their fingers crossed and don't want to jinx anything.
But, most would consider the fact that Governor Mitch Daniels and Carbon Motors executives will be attending the rally a very promising sign.
Volunteers have been cleaning up and preparing the Visteon plant. Some consider this a sign executives with Carbon Motors are interested in purchasing and turning the builidng into an assembly line.
Connersville is one of three cities the company is looking at to manufacture its state of the art police car, which will also be at the rally.
With double digit unemployment close to 16%, this town is desperate for new jobs. The company will create close to 1300 jobs.
City Council Member David Jobe said, "We just have lost so much industry over the years it's down to we need this terribly bad. It's very critical. We need so many jobs whether it's one or a 1,000 any number of jobs is good for Connersville."
South Carolina and Georgia are the other two states the company is considering.
