INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The massive hotel complex going up downtown has a new name.
Developers are calling the 4-hotel project, plus the existing
downtown Marriott the "Marriott Place Indianapolis."
24-Hour News 8 took a hard-hat tour of the work Friday
morning.
A luxury
J.W.
Marriot anchors the new complex. A courtyard, Fairfield, and
Springhill suites are part of it, too.
"We're forging ahead. We're ahead of schedule. We're doing
great. It's been a tremendous partnership between the public and
private sector. We're using almost all local labor and contractors
to get it done," said Cory Chambers, Director of Marketing &
Sales.
Developers said they are on track for an on-time opening with
three of the hotels welcoming guests this time next year. The
larger J.W. Marriott is set to open in two years.
Coming up tonight on News 8 at 5 p.m., we'll show you more of
the work and see whether the economy has put a pinch on the project
at all.
