INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The 82nd national FFA convention is officially under way in Indianapolis.

It's expected to bring around 50,000 people to the Circle City over the next few days.

As the city's largest annual convention - the FFA plays a crucial role in the local economy.

Few know that better than the people who run hotels in the city.

Omni General Manager Phil Ray leads the board of the Indiana Hotel and Lodging Association.

He spoke about the convention's true impact on Daybreak Wednesday morning.

The convention's keynote speaker is Mike Rowe host of Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs."
