INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is confirming that
the president and CEO of the Indiana State Museum has resigned.
DNR Director Robert Carter tells the Indianapolis Business
Journal that Barry Dressel has resigned as head of the museum.
The 62-year-old Dressel was hired in 2007 after the museum
went a year with no chief executive. He was the fifth president and
CEO at the downtown Indianapolis museum since 2000.
Dressel isn't commenting publicly on his departure.
The DNR says longtime museum staffer Kathleen McLary will
take Dressel's place as an interim director.
State funding for the museum has fallen by more than 20
percent since 2007.
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
