What's next for Georgia Street area?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Monday one group will look at what to do next with what was the Super Bowl Village.

Indianapolis Downtown Inc. invited businesses from the Georgia Street area to meet on Monday.

They're holding an invitation-only session at 3 p.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The group says they are coming together to brainstorm about the future of Georgia Street.

Late last year the City-County Council put forth a proposal to lease Georgia Street to IDI and let conventions book the space.

The Indianapolis Visitors Bureau says so far 20 conventions have agreed to come to Indianapolis this year, and some are interested in Georgia Street.

“Anything that brings business our way and puts people out here on the street is fine with us,” said Dustin Donovan with The Pub.

Some workers on Georgia Street told 24-Hour News 8 that they would like to see more concerts, because those events brought out the most customers at the Super Bowl Village.
