FISHERS (WISH) - The annual Fishers Freedom Festival is this weekend.

This year's event isn't immune to the sagging economy. Organizers say sponsorships for the event were down about 20% this year.

Last year they raised about $300,000, but they are expecting to raise less money this year because of the economy.

They're expecting about 60,000 people to attend this year's festival. They have over 100 business vendors, over 130 arts and crafts vendors, plus 30 food vendors.

The weekend is filled with events and capped off with a huge fireworks display. “It's going to be about a 20 or 25 minute show. We actually used the same vendor that we've been using for years, he actually hand packs a lot of his own fireworks so we have so we have things like hearts and strawberries, and stars that shoot up in the air along with other things that are really exciting for kids. We're going to put it to music this year as we did last year, we're really expecting a good show, he does very well,” said Jennifer Keahl Executive Director of Fishers Freedom Festival.

And everything begins Saturday morning at 6:15, there will be a 5k run. There will also be a number of events, challenges and shows.

There will also be a huge parade here on Sunday at 4 p.m., during that parade 116th street will be shut down.
