INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - If you're still deciding whether to take the family on vacation this summer travel experts say now is the best time to buy.
Analysts say air fares for this summer are as much as 63 percent lower than last summer. If you haven't booked yet experts say don't worry, there are plenty of last minute deals.
Book a vacation on almost any website and you'll be offered a deal on everything from cruises to all-inclusive trips.
"There are deals out there but they're going quickly," Bethanne Harrison-Brown with The Travel Authority said.
Currently you can find low-cost flights to some of your favorite destinations.
"They're making it more affordable for everybody. Airlines want to stay in business too so I think it's dropping a lot," traveler Shelia Witchie said.
Cindy Boughton is flying with her husband Bud to Denver .
"I just hit it right and we're both flying round trip for $250," Cindy said.
Bud laughed and said, "That's why I let her book the flights."
Whether you go through a travel agent or do everything online by yourself, experts say it pays to fly on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday. You'll get the cheapest tickets then.
"If they're flexible and say 'I can travel anywhere between these days,' I can play with it and try to find the best available fare for them," Harrison-Brown explained.
And travel agents say booking an August flight now is your cheapest bet.
"If you can book in advance and you know when you're going you do pretty well," Bud said.
But you better hurry before someone else steals your deal.
"The seats are limited. They're not offering the entire aircraft at that price. They're only offering 5-10 seats," Harrison-Brown explained.
Experts also recommend getting travel insurance. That way, if you need to cancel your trip because of job loss, illness, or something else you won't lose your money too.
