INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say that one person is dead after a shooting occurred on the city's southeast side Thursday night.
The victim was shot and killed on the 4200 block of El Lago Boulevard just after 9 p.m.
Police received a call from a man who stated his roommate had been shot. When officers arrived inside of the apartment they found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 34-year-old man from Gary. His name is being withheld until family is notified.
Witnesses at the scene told police that two black males were seen running from the apartment following the shooting.
The shooting is currently under investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call IMPD Homicide detectives at 317-327-3475.
