$10,000 reward offered in double homicide

MERCER COUNTY, OHIO (WANE) - Police are still gathering evidence and collecting information related to the November, 2011 slayings of an Ohio woman and her father-in-law at their rural Mercer County home. On Thursday, the Mercer County Sheriff's Department offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction in the case.

On the morning of November 30, Cassandra Grube found her father-in-law Robert, 70 and her sister-in-law, Colleen, 47, bound by duct tape and shot to death when she went to check on them at their home at 2216 Burrville Road.

Investigators are sure that Colleen was last seen alive shortly after 5:00 pm on November 29.

Investigators have narrowed the time of the killings to a two hour window, and also know that at least one male and one female offender were present when the crimes took place.

There was also a laptop computer missing from the scene.

According to a detective on the case, as of Friday about 220 people have been interviewed, several of them multiple times. Of those who were interviewed, some remain persons of interest.

Investigators have also collected 199 pieces of evidence and several items have been sent to state's crime lab for testing. Some items have been sent back for further testing.

Police have not indicated whether they have a motive for the killings.

The Mercer County Sheriff's Department has established a local anonymous tip line 567-890-TIPS (8477). Tips can be left 24 hours a day and all leads will be followed up by an investigator. Tips can also be submitted online.
