HAGERSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) - A man and woman were arrested Monday after a crash on Interstate 70 involving a stolen pickup truck and trailer. The two left the scene in a car that had also been stolen, police said.

The two were residents of Marion, where the F-150 involved in the crash and the Monte Carlo used as a getaway were reported stolen Sunday night. The trailer also involved in the crash was reported stolen Monday from Anderson. The crash happened at about 10 a.m. on eastbound I-70 just west of Richmond, at the 143-mile marker.

Indiana State Police said Dustin J. Havens, 36, Marion, lost control of the F-150 pulling a 30-foot trailer, overturning the rig in the median. Havens crawled out of the wreckage uninjured and got into the Monte Carlo that had been following him, driven by Danielle R. Denham, 30, Marion.

Witnesses told officers the car exited at the 145-mile marker and went north, then went west on Ind. 38 toward Hagerstown. Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Hagerstown Police Department located the vehicle on Ind. 38 just west of Greens Fork a few minutes later. Both were arrested.

Havens faces preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, a Class D felony, and leaving the scene of an accident, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said he also had two outstanding warrants issued in his home county, Grant. He was being held Monday in Wayne County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Denham faces preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, a Class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia and leaving the scene of an accident, both Class A misdemeanors. Police said she also had two outstanding warrants issued in Grant County. She was being held Monday in Wayne County Jail on $7,500 bond.

Police said additional charges were pending.
