INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Metro Police are trying to piece together a deadly shooting in a strip mall parking lot on the city's northwest side.

It happened at Augusta Plaza just after two o'clock Saturday morning in the 2800 block of Westlane Roard. Investigators say they have no clues in the case.

"Our initial report came out as shots fired, people down," explained Sgt. Matt Mount with IMPD.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found three people shot. Investigators identified the victims as 25-year-old Jose Garcia, 36-year-old Dowand Lane Senior and 29-year-old Toney Dangelo all of Indianapolis.

Medics pronounced Dangelo dead at the scene.

"All three of them were together when the shots were fired," said Sgt. Mount.

The strip mall is home to several businesses. Investigators say one of the victim's was found outside the Q-bo night club.

"We're trying to determine if any of these individuals were in the night club, who they may have talked with, if they had just been there," said Sgt. Mount.

News of the shooting did not surprise one person who works at the strip mall, "It makes us feel like less protected because we don't already have security around here as it is."

"When something like this happens, it moves us backwards," said Willie Haynes.

Haynes has owned his barber shop at the strip mall for 20 years. He says his top priority is the safety of his customers.

"It's disturbing to me that know that our community allow this to happen," Hanyes said.

Metro Police say they don't know why the men were targeted. Investigators are checking surveillance videos from nearby businesses for clues.

"We don't have a whole lot of information right now; we're looking for leads. looking for individuals that may have seen things," Sgt. Mount said.

Medics rushed Garcia and Lane to Wishard Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
