INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The arrest of a third and final suspect in the shooting death of a 61-year-old man was linked to an ongoing gang investigation, police said.

Anthony Shockley, 19, was arrested in the 2100 block of Shoreland Drive. Shockley was the final suspect IMPD homicide detectives were searching for, after arresting 18-year-old Johnathan Williams and a 16-year-old Monday. All three are suspected of being involved in Battice’s death.

Battice was killed outside his apartment at Bavarian Village after returning from work.

"The information developed to arrest and charge Anthony Shockley grew out of last week's investigation and subsequent arrests of alleged Pop It Off Boyz gang members,” said Marion County Prosecutor Tim Curry.

Shockley is facing preliminary charges of murder, along with corrupt business influence, criminal gang activity and criminal recklessness.

“In charging Mr. Shockley - who is alleged in last week's charges to be a member of this criminal street gang - with murder,” Curry said, “we are using the firearm sentencing enhancement to add five years to the murder charge. We will continue to employ these aggressive prosecutorial tactics to those individuals who participate in - and perpetuate - gun crimes and gang-related activities."
