57 arrested at IU homecoming

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - The Indiana State Excise Police arrested 57 people during Indiana University's homecoming football game Saturday, including 54 minors.
Officers also transported two severely intoxicated people to the hospital for medical evaluation after they were found to have a BAC of over .25 percent. One of those taken to the hospital was a 20-year-old student who claimed he had been drinking since 10 a.m. and was covered in mud.
Officers also arrested 54 minors for illegal consumption or possession of alcohol. Three of those arrested were less than 18-years-old.
Three people were arrested for possession of a fake ID and three others were arrested for public intoxication. One adult was arrested for providing alcohol to a minor.
Two people were taken into custody for resisting law enforcement.
Indiana State Excise Police officers were working in Bloomington this weekend as part of the Intensified College Enforcement, or ICE, initiative. The program aims to reduce underage access to and use of alcohol at six college campuses: Ball State, Butler, Indiana, Indiana State, Notre Dame and Purdue.
