9-month-old's injuries lead to dad's arrest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis father was arrested Wednesday after his 9-month-old child suffered serious injuries.
Johnny Bishop Jr. faces a preliminary charge of battery after an incident Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of East Troy Avenue, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.
Bishop reportedly told officers the child slipped out of his hands and landed on concrete.
IMPD officials describe the child’s injuries as life threatening. The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
