INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are looking for three people they believe carjacked a cab driver early Tuesday morning.
The cab driver, Abdullahi Abdikarin, told investigators he
picked up a woman at the corner of Illinois and South streets.
He said the woman directed him to Tremont and Washington
streets.
The cab driver told police when they got there, the woman told him to go down an alley where they met a black male and a white male.
Police said the two men beat the driver and took off in his cab.
“He was dazed of course his wallet was left in the vehicle he was not seriously injured he was able to find a police officer, ended up flagging down our officer they put the information out,” said Sgt. Matt Mount of the Indianapolis Metro Police Department.
DPW workers found the cab hours later in the 500 block of North
Centennial Street.
Metro detectives are combing through the cab looking for
identifying evidence.
