INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are looking for three armed suspects who targeted
students at five school bus stops. The robberies took place minutes
apart on the northeast side Thursday morning.
"I just ran home, I was so scared I thought I was going to
die," said one female victim.
"I'm stunned and surprised, at this bus stop. Oh my God. I'm
afraid now," said Brenda White.
Police said three men robbed students at three locations just
blocks apart. They took the students cd and mp3 players, book bags,
even their lunch money.
The female victim said, "He took his gun and pointed it in my
bag and was looking around and he was like, "aw you don't got
nothing."
But at a school bus stop near 39th and Bolton, a high school
senior was pistol whipped. He ran to a friends house.
"Breaking his way into the door saying I've been robbed, I've
been robbed. There was blood everywhere. It was all over his face,"
said Shirley Strayhorn.
After talking to witnesses, police began looking for Eric
Edwards. He has a nap town tattoo on his neck and a tear drop
tattoo on his face.
Edwards is wanted for three recent armed robberies of Payday
Loan companies. Police said surveillance video shows Edwards during
a robbery at the cash advance store on Pendleton Pike.
The bus stop robberies have students and parents on edge.
Everyone wondering how someone could target kids waiting to head to
school.
"You've got individuals out there with no values or concern
over who it is they are victimizing," said Sgt. Matt Mount,
Indianapolis Metro Police Department.
Police said the suspect vehicle is a 1999 grey Dodge
Intrepid. It has a paper plate number: L452284.
According to police, there will be an increased police
presence Friday morning. Anyone with information on any of the
robberies should call
Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
