The discovery of numerous weapons in an Indianapolis home triggered new developments in the ongoing death investigation of 54-year-old, Donna Jacks.

A 56-year-old Richard Jacks is under arrest facing multiple charges of having grenades and weapons in his and his deceased wife’s home.

Just yesterday, IMPD Officers were at the 11314 Red Bush Drive home investigating the woman’s death. But another investigation has been launched on what was found inside this home.

Detectives searched and found a room packed with firearms, ammunition, and live 40 millimeter grenades. It was a private arsenal.

Sgt. Paul Thompson said the potential damage from the explosives would be substantial.

"If all these devices exploded spontaneously after an initial explosion it could be very serious,” said Thompson. “You’re probably talking about a lot of damage around the home and several people being injured."

24 Hour News8’s Ruthanne Gordon talked with neighbors who knew about the death, but were stunned to hear news of weapons and explosives.

Neighbor, Anisha Young said she was shocked.

"That's crazy and dangerous...wow".

Gosdalo Rayna is the Jacks’ next door neighbor and said she felt more than unsettled upon hearing the news.

"Oh boy, I am scared, really, we dont know who's living close to us. I'm sorry I didnt know that. "

Richard Jacks told officers all the weapons were purchased on line by his wife. Many of the weapons require a federal stamp. The paper work has yet to be found.

Sgt Paul Thompson said authorities are searching for the origin for the weapons.

“We want to know where those weapons came from and if they were possessed legally,” said Thompson. “But we have reason to believe at this time that they were not legally possessed.”

Detectives plan on working with the ATF- to try and trace these weapons.
