INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Metro police are searching for two men accused of robbing a car salesman Saturday. It happened in the 6200 block of Massachusetts Avenue around one o'clock Saturday afternoon.
The victim, 78-year-old Cleon Brown, was sitting out front of his used car lot, C and B Auto Sales, just like he does every other Saturday afternoon. That's when he says two young men in a gold pickup truck, with a maroon cap pulled up.
"I thought they were customers," Cleon said of the two men.
So Cleon walked over to them. He says they pretended to be interested in this blue truck, "I went to go get the keys and when I turned around they had a gun on me."
In shock, Cleon didn't know what to think, "He said just give me your money and he had that gun sticking right in my face. I gave it to him because I didn't want to get shot."
Cleon says he's been in business on the east side for more than 45 years and something like this has never happened to him before. Now that it has, he says he's considering retiring this year.
"It was scary, it was scary," Cleon said.
"This is pretty close to being enough for me because it could've killed my dad," said Cleon's daughter Vickie Knose.
Vickie owns a car lot next door. She caught the suspects truck on her surveillance cameras. In the video, you can see the gold truck stopping in front of her dad's business.
The robbery didn't last long. Police say they got away with some cash and Cleon's handgun.
Police don't have a good description of the suspects.
