INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man who pled guilty to making false calls to 911 will spend
time behind bars.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Ricky Jones to 3 years in
prison. Jones admitted to police he made hundreds of calls to 911
claiming children were trapped in burning buildings or that
officers had been shot.
The fake calls had been going on for years and it’s
believed Jones cost taxpayers of Marion County over $1 million in
false emergency call runs.
