INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, authorities say someone shot 25-year old Gabriel Rivas in the head during an attempted home robbery on the northwest part of town.

Rivas' younger brother was in the other room playing video games when Gabriel was murdered.

"All of a sudden someone knocked at the door and all I heard was gunshots," said Gabriel’s brother, John Flores.

IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhamell said police are trying to figure out why the gunmen singled out Rivas.

Police said Rivas answered the door, only to have two men rush in.

"I just heard them say, ‘Give me some money’," recalled Flores.

According to investigators, the suspects never stole anything, except for Rivas' life.

"It's the worst thing you can see," said Flores. "That's my brother and my best friend."

Police don't have a good description of the two suspects who killed Rivas.
