GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana State Police officers are investigating a police action shooting that resulted in the death of a Greencastle man.

Just after midnight Sunday, police say they were called to 511 Sycamore Street in Greencastle on a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to officials, when a Greencastle Police Officer arrived at the scene, Charles Aaron Brousard, 28, charged at the officer. Investigators say there was a physical confrontation that resulted in the police action shooting.

Brousard was pronounced dead at the scene by the Putnam County Coroner.

An investigation is now underway. His step sister, Arinter Gaston, says that when they come in and out of their house, they will never be able to forget what happened early Sunday morning.

"No one is going to miss what a wonderful person he was moments before the shooting. They're going to remember him lying here in the middle of the street underneath a sheet," said Gaston.

Police have not named the officer involved and say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
