INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The wife of a Marion County Superior Court judge faces forgery charges.

Police said Kristina Nelson forged the signature of another Marion County judge on a court document that said she and her husband were victims of an assault.

According to police, she sent that document to a mortgage company stating they needed time to heal before they could make their payments on their Lawrence home.

Police said Nelson's husband, Judge William Nelson, did not know their home was facing foreclosure.

The judge whose signature was forged is also Kristina Nelson's sister-in-law.

The Indiana Supreme Court will assign a special prosecutor and judge to this case. Nelson was released on $5,000 bond.
