PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The jury is set in the trial of Brian Reese, accused of shooting IMPD officer Jason Fishburn.
Twelve jurors and two alternates have been selected.
The trial is being held in the Porter County courthouse in Valparaiso, about two and a half hours north of Indianapolis.
Tuesday, opening arguments are set to begin. That is expected to take about two hours followed by testimony. Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi said the first witness will be Jason Fishburn.
The prosecutor said Fishburn doesn't remember any of the events of July 10, 2008, the day of the shooting, but will testify so that the jury can put a face with the name.
The defense will argue that while Brian Reese shot Jason Fishburn, his intent was not to kill him.
The trial is expected to last about a week.
