CROWN POINT, Ind.(AP) - Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence without parole for a babysitter charged with killing a toddler whose body was burned, encased in concrete and dumped in a swampy area near LaPorte.

They filed paperwork Thursday seeking the life sentence if Engelica Elisa Castillo, 18, of Hobart is convicted in the June death of 2-year-old Jada Justice of Portage. It's based on an aggravating circumstance they would have to prove, that Castillo killed the girl.

Castillo and her live-in boyfriend, Timothy Tkachik, 24, each are charged with murder, two counts of neglect of a dependent, battery and false informing.

Tkachik has told police Castillo fatally beat the girl and tried unsuccessly to burn it before it was encased in concrete in a plastic tub.
