SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Shelbyville police have arrested a mother's boyfriend for the death of her 19-month-old daughter. Police made the arrest after the results of an autopsy confirmed the little girl did not die of natural causes.

Police arrested 22-year-old Timothy Reedy Friday evening. He faces multiple charges including neglect of a dependent resulting in death and battery resulting in death, both are class "A" felonies.

Erin Badgley died at Methodist Hospital Thursday after police said she was violently shaken.

Erin's mother, 20-year-old Ashley Fleener, said she was at work Wednesday morning while Reedy was babysitting Erin at the home they share in Shelbyville.

Reedy was the person who brought Erin to the hospital. Police named him as a person of interest in the case almost immediately. He is currently in the Shelby County Jail, police said.

The family of Erin Badgley described her as a happy little girl who was a joy to be around.

"She loved watching Sponge Bob and getting her hair fixed. She like making herself all pretty," said Fleener.

"My daughter was loving," said Erin's dad, Jason Badgley. "She always liked to play. She always had to see what you were doing and she had to be there to see what you were doing."
