One person dead in Montgomery shooting

NEW RICHMOND, Ind. (WLFI) - One person is dead after a shooting in a home near New Richmond in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Gary Truax said police were called to a house at 3749 West 1200 North Monday morning. He said they are still early into the investigation, but one person was found dead in the house. The victim has not been identified.
Truax said police believe to have a person of interest in the investigation in Anderson, Indiana.
Truax said Scott D. Mellott contacted Anderson police and is willing to talk to police.
Truax said four children were also at the home, and they are now with Child Protective Services.
