JOHNSON COUNY, Ind. (WISH) - Johnson County detectives say an employee robbed the convenience store he worked at and may be headed to Las Vegas.

The robbery happened Wednesday morning at the Circle K near County Line Road and Bluff Road.

According to detective, surveillance video showed 23-year-old Vincent Swan taking cash from the register, from the ATM, and from the safe. Officers said he also stole several cartons of cigarettes.

Some customers were surprised by the news.

“I don’t know. It’s close to home. That’s awful. We come in here a lot,” said Chuck McDaniel, a customer.

Jamie McDaniel, a customer said, “I probably knew the guy because I come here all the time.”

According to detectives, Swan drove off in a 1994 green Ford Ranger and he may be heading to Florida or possibly Las Vegas.

“Well I’ve never been to Vegas so he might have a good time for a little while but they will catch up with him. They will catch up with him,” said Jamie.

Detectives said Swan did one thing right Wednesday morning. Before he robbed the store, he filled up his truck with gasoline and paid for the fuel. Now officers are asking for the publics help to track Swan down.

“We’re extremely concerned about the well being of Mr. Swan, mental well being. We just want to get him and make sure he is safe and can’t harm anyone,” said Detective Ryan Bartlett, Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives said Swan may be carrying a handgun. He's described as 6’2”, 260 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information should call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
