INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - US Marshals have captured the third inmate who escaped from the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.
Mark Booher was arrested at the Inn Town Suites Hotel on 86th Street and Michigan Road in Indianapolis Thursday afternoon.
Booher of New Castle has been on the run since July 12. He was convicted in 1999 of an Indianapolis murder.
On July 21, convicted rapist Lance Battreal was found sleeping at his mother's house in Rockport, Indiana. Battreal's mother, Geraldine Lynch said Battreal told her he had inoperable thyroid cancer and he walked all the way to her house because he wanted to see her.
Doug Garrison of the Indiana Department of Correction said the DOC has no record that he was either treated for cancer or that he was diagnosed with cancer.
And, 48-year-old Charles Smith, a convicted murderer was caught in Grand Beach, Michigan just one day after the escape on July 13.
All three inmates escaped the prison through the underground tunnel system. The prison has been on lock down since the escape.
