INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Metro police have arrested a man they say shot a woman early Thursday morning on the city's east side.
Shawana Harrison, 39, arrived at the Marathon gas station at 34th and Sherman around 6:15. Police said she had been shot in the shoulder and wanted someone to call an ambulance.
Police later arrested Harrison's ex-boyfriend, 48-year-old R.C. Davis. He faces charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness with a weapon and aggravated battery.
Police said the two got into an argument at a home in the 3400 block of N. Sherman. They say Davis punched Harrison in the face and then shot her as she fell back onto a couch. When Davis went into a bedroom, Harrison ran out of the house to the Marathon station.
Harrison was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
Police said Davis is the father of Harrison's child and the couple has been involved in a long running domestic dispute.
