Greensburg, Ind. (WISH) - Additional charges were filed against Waldo L. Jones Jr. in Superior Court Friday; he now faces a charge of murder, a class A felony, according to our partner paper the Greensburg Daily News .

Originally, Tasha Parsons was charged with the murder of her son, 12-year-old Devin Parsons , and Jones was charged with neglect of a dependent.

Tasha Parsons' charge still stands as does Jones' original charge of neglect; however, the murder charge was added to it.

According to court documents read by Prosecutor James Rosenberry, Jones is charged with, "Acting alone and with Tasha Parsons," beating on the body of Devin Parsons, causing severe injuries, which resulted in his death.

With the neglect charge alone, Jones faced 20 to 50 years with the Department of Correction. With the new murder charge, Jones now faces 45 to 65 years.

Rosenberry then requested that Jones now be held in jail without bond.

Jones' attorney Christopher Tebbe suggested that the original price of Jones' bond was already too high for him to pay anyway, and therefore holding him without bond was not necessary; however, Judge Matthew Bailey granted Rosenberry's request.

Jones's trial dates remain the same, with a pre-trial hearing set for Aug. 3 and a trial set for Oct. 17.
