MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - An Anderson woman who police said drove while she was high on spice and prescription drugs now faces charges in a fatal crash.

Jeremy Chissel, 32, New Castle, died Feb. 1 when a 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Karissa Campbell, 23, Anderson, crashed on Ind. 3 south of Muncie, near the intersection with Delaware County Road 775 South.

Monday, Campbell was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated resulting in death, a Class B felony.

According to court documents, Campbell admitted to investigators that she had taken clonazepam, a prescription antiepileptic medication, and smoked spice, a synthetic substance that mimics marijuana, before the crash. In fact, she told police, she and Chissel had traveled from New Castle to Muncie for the express purpose of buying spice at a Muncie convenience store.

Campbell voluntarily submitted to a blood test after the crash, and that sample was found to contain cannabinoids, according to court documents.
