Bloomington Police car, SWAT gear stolen

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Bloomington Police are on the hunt for a department vehicle and the person who stole it from an officer’s home.

Police say the officer was off duty when someone stole a Green 2005 Chrysler Town and County minivan. Officers say that there was police equipment inside of the van.

Detectives believe the van might have an Indiana In God We Trust license plate number TO4640 since there was a reported theft of a license plate from another vehicle in the same neighborhood.

Luckily, police say, the van was not equipped with emergency lights so it is unlikely the suspect will be able to impersonate a police officer.
