GARY, Ind. (AP) - Investigators in northwest Indiana say the remains of an adult male found buried behind a home near Gary may have been there for more than two years.
The Times of Munster reports that state police say University of Indianapolis forensic anthropologist Stephen Nawrocki spent Saturday working to collect evidence and coordinate efforts to recover the remains. Police say it may take several weeks to identify the remains.
Thirty-one-year-old Calvin Peacock was arrested Saturday on a preliminary murder charge . There is no date set yet for his arraignment. He is being held without bond at the Lake County Jail.
Indiana State Police say the investigation continues.
