Car, foot chase ends in meth lab bust

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Sheriff's deputies discovered a mobile meth lab and arrested one after pursuing an erratic driver in a white minivan in Terre Haute Saturday afternoon.

Originally, Indiana conservation officer Vossmer was in pursuit of a white Ford Windstar minivan for erratic driving.  After the minivan fled from officer Vossmer in the area of Springhill Drive and McDaniel Rd., he contacted the Vigo County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputies Chris Jones, Dayton Huebner and Sgt. Bell were dispatched to the area in search of the vehicle.  After several minutes, Sgt. Bell and deputy Huebner were flagged down by a passing motorist around Springhill Dr. and 9th St. about a white minivan driving recklessly in a nearby subdivision.

According to our sister station WTHI , deputies found the minivan, driven by William Moody, and continued to pursue him.

After leading deputies on a vehicle chase, Moody fled on foot westbound into the parking lot of the Honey Creek Mall.  Thanks to a passing motorist, Moody was delayed long enough for deputies to arrest him.

Moody, then, informed the deputies there was an active mobile meth lab in the Windstar he had abandoned.

Upon investigating the vehicle, the deputies found the lab and contacted Drug Task Force detective Palmer to help dismantle it.

William Moody was taken to the Vigo County Jail where he was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Law Enforcement by Fleeing on Foot.
