CARMEL, IND.(WISH) - Three people have been arrested and charged with stealing catalytic converters.
38 year old Andrew Lee Hurst, 60 year old Nona Schakel, and 33 year old Jessica Anne Keen were spotted by police on Monday.
They were in a white Mazda mini-van that had been identified as a suspect vehicle in thefts of catalytic converters.
Monday afternoon, officers spotted the vehicle driving through several parking lots in Carmel and Westfield.
At approximately 4:00 PM the suspect vehicle parked next to a Mazda Tribute SUV on the south side of Dick's Sporting Goods, located at 14350 Clay Terrace Blvd in Carmel.
Detectives observed the individuals exit their vehicle and climb under the SUV.
A few moments later they heard the sound of a saw.
Detectives moved in and apprehended all three suspects.
All three subjects were placed under arrest and charged with multiple counts of theft.
Investigators say the three individuals are suspects in numerous thefts in Carmel, Fishers, Westfield and Noblesville.
