INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Charges against an Indianapolis music teacher in connection with an arson in which her husband died have been dropped.

The Marion County prosecutor’s office said it had filed a motion to drop the charges against Gwendolyn Kirch, and a judge has granted that request. The office is focusing its efforts on trying her son, Thomas Kirch, in connection with the fire and death. He has a pretrial hearing set for Nov. 21.

The teacher was arrested in September 2011 in connection with the April 2007 fire. Firefighters found the body of her husband, David, was found in the master bedroom of the home at 7040 Eastwock Lane, and autopsy results showed he died as a result of the fire.
