INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A City-County Council member arrested at the scene of a fire in June has been found not guilty of misdemeanor charges.

Joseph Simpson, a Ninth District Democrat, was found not guilty of resisting law enforcement and interfering with a firefighter. A judge, not a jury, decided the case.

Simpson’s original arrest stemmed from an incident in the 4500 block of Guilford Avenue when officers were investigating a burglary.
