CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Court documents reveal it was a mother’s complaint that her 10-year-old son had been molested that led to charges against a Crawfordsville youth ministry volunteer .
Jordan Roseboom, 24, now faces 10 preliminary counts of child molesting, a Class C felony. He served as a youth ministry volunteer at Rock Point Baptist Church. The mother of the 10-year-old expressed concern to the senior pastor there, Terry Thompson. After he spoke to Roseboom – who admitted the inappropriate relationship, according to court documents – he encouraged Roseboom to turn himself in to police. Roseboom did so shortly thereafter on Wednesday.
Court documents say Roseboom admitted molesting four boys younger than 14 and another young man. Roseboom told the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department the molestation occurred at Roseboom’s Crawfordsville home or at the homes of the boys involved, court documents say.
Statements to police by the mother who made the complaint, along with statements by the boy, corroborated Roseboom’s statements, police said. Roseboom said he had had inappropriate contact with that boy on at least 10 occasions, court documents say. Roseboom told police he had struggled with an addiction to pornography for years before the molestations took place.
