INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 16-year-old Indianapolis boy charged with murder was back in court Wednesday.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Luke Osborn stabbed Tonya Scott, 25, his brother’s fiancée, 20 times in the head, neck and shoulders on Aug. 21 in a home in the 800 block of South Auburn Street.

Police said the teen’s mother called 911 that day when she discovered Scott's partially clothed, blood-covered body lying on a bed. Osborn, 6'1" and 340 pounds, lived in the house with his brother and Scott.

Police said Osborn was not home when his mother found Scott. Police later found Osborn behind the Kroger store in the 5100 block of West Washington Street. When officers approached the teen, they said he asked them: "Is she dead? Did I kill her?"

According to court records, Osborn then led officers to a nearby Fifth Third Bank branch, where he wrote the words "I Live" in blood on the wall.

Osborn later told detectives he stabbed Scott because she had caught him cutting himself with a knife and she threatened to tell his mother, according to court records.

Police said Osborn had a blood-covered knife in his possession when they made the arrest.

In court, a judge ordered Osborn to have no contact with his mother. That order expires Sept. 16, when Osborn is scheduled to be back in court.
