INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Andrew Miller, ex-commissioner of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, isn’t the only one cruising for sex in public places in Indianapolis.
The place where Miller was arrested for public indecency has a long history with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Since 2000, IMPD has arrested 116 men inside Claypool Court for public indecency or indecent exposure. The men range in age from 17 to 74.
Online searches for sex cruising bring up multiple websites listing places where men can meet up to have sex. There are detailed descriptions about the places — often restrooms — including fitness centers, malls, state parks, city parks, retail stores, hotels and restaurants.
Claypool Court has a long history of arrests and complaints about lewd behavior in the restroom where an undercover cop discovered Miller with his pants around his ankles. Miller then invited the officer to participate. Most of the men busted at Claypool Court are from Indianapolis, but they come from all corners of the state. There have been men arrested who are from as far away as California.
